Working closely with partners such as Transport for London and Transport for Greater Manchester, Metroline has established a reputation for delivering a reliable service for customers. The company has a strong focus on safety, regularly running initiatives to ensure that journeys are safe for both customers and other road users.

Since March 2000, Metroline has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore based ComfortDelGro; one of the world’s largest passenger land transport companies.

In London:

  • Metroline employs over 4700 people in London; approximately 3800 of these are bus drivers, with a team of over 180 engineers.
  • Metroline operates more than 14 sites across London (some are over 100 years old) including our bus garages at Cricklewood, Edgware, Willesden, Willesden Junction, Holloway, Harrow Weald, Brentford, Uxbridge, Lampton, Greenford, Potters Bar and Perivale.
  • Metroline also operates a purpose-built state of the art engineering facility in West Perivale called the Central Engineering and Logistics Facility (CELF).
  • Metroline currently operates over 100 routes for Transport for London.
  • The Metroline fleet consist of more than 1,400 buses, which includes over 700 hybrid buses that have the highest environmental credentials available, over 300 all-electric buses, and 20 hydrogen buses that have been in service since 2021, the first of their kind in England.
  • Metroline carries over 1 million people across London each day.

In Manchester:

  • Metroline Manchester employs over 1,500 people.
  • Metroline Manchester operates 4 depots: Hyde Road, Sharston, Ashton and Wythenshawe.
  • Metroline currently operates over 140 routes for Transport for Greater Manchester.
  • The Metroline Manchester fleet consist of more than 400 buses, including 160 electric buses.
  • Metroline Manchester carries an average of 1 million people across Manchester weekly.
