Job Summary

A dynamic individual, who can demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a proven record of managing technical projects. Ideally you have worked in an environment related to personal ground transport preferably bus or coach transport although this is not a prerequisite.

Responsible for overseeing the delivery of multiple projects to meet business needs, you will be comfortable managing concurrent activities that may need significant negotiation and influence to complete. As Project delivery is being developed across the organisation, you will be required to demonstrate proven experience creating process that is suitable and, will support our governance and reporting requirements.

Our project cycle is complex across our different businesses each delivering a mix of B2B, B2C, B2B2C. The post holder will need to identify the most appropriate framework and share their knowledge as to how the framework can be best applied, run workshops and be willing to share knowledge.

Regular reporting on status is a fundamental requirement of this role as is the ability to communicate across the business using terminology appropriate for the audience.

It is likely you will need to manage both internal and external stakeholders and you should be confident in your ability.

You will provide insight, expertise and support to your peer group developing and implementing ongoing Strategy for the company and enable IT Services to be an efficient, productive and successful resource.

Main responsibilities

  • Project manage one or more software and infrastructure projects
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects using internal and external resources.
  • Assisting with supplier selection process
  • Undertake business analysis and create functional specifications
  • Managing software development and infrastructure changes with suppliers
  • Produce Projects documentation.
  • Work with external suppliers to manage project deliverables
  • Report and update project and business stakeholders
  • Manage Risk assessment, risk management and risk mitigation
  • Support management and organisation of operational support engineers

Essential criteria

  • Excellent understanding of MS Office, MS Project & Visio, Jira/Confluence
  • Hold qualifications and experience delivering project management principles
  • Excellent communication skills with:
    • Technical
    • non-technical
    • ā€œCā€ level
    • Other levels of the organization.
  • Supplier management
  • Good team player with the ability to also work on own initiative
  • Prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Mentoring and Training experience
  • Delivering business process change

Hours of work

9 to 5.30 Monday to Friday or the hours needed to undertake the role. This may include some out of hours or weekend working.
