Job summary

To coordinate the stores resources and activities across the business units.

Main Responsibilities



  • Allocating and managing stores staff resources across business units according to changing needs;
  • Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods throughout the business;
  • Analysing group and store stock activity data;
  • Lead stores and non-stores personnel on the use and implementation of computerised systems;
  • Liaising with suppliers;
  • Coordinating staff training;
  • Managing fuel/lubricant supply and demand across sites;
  • Coordinating periodical and yearly stock takes;
  • Overseeing stores processes and procedures;
  • Leading the warranty and service exchange process across all sites;
  • Provide operational stores cover if required;
  • Project management;
  • Track, monitor, and communicate key performance indicators;

Essential Criteria

  • A full UK driving licence;
  • At least intermediate standard in Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • Proven logistics experience, ideally in an engineering environment;
  • Membership of CIPS / CILT or an equivalent professional body;
  • A good working knowledge of motor vehicles, especially HGV / PSV.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Ability to prepare and present statistical data;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and using own initiative;
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relations with stakeholders, both internally and externally;   
  • Ability to manage own and others workload and prioritise tasks effectively;
  • A sound working knowledge of bus service operation;
  • An understanding of the company’s obligations to TFL;


Hours of work

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
