Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Recruitment and Training, the Recruitment Manager will assume full responsibility for the Recruitment function ensuring that recruitment meets the needs of the Garages. Utilising a team of recruitment assistants to provide a robust framework and strategy to reach our driving staff establishment targets.

The ability to deputise for the Head of Recruitment and Training when required and deputise for the Training Manager when required.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

 

  • Directly manage and lead the Recruitment Team on a daily basis to maximise performance within the team
  • Staff performance management and attendance management
  • Ensuring the recruitment team remain compliant with all Immigration and recruitment processes and procedures;
  • Ensure that Garage Staff Establishments are monitored and maintained at a level allowing a cost effective operation;
  • Knowledge of Job hunting websites and the best places to post job advertisements
  • Complete monthly payroll returns for the recruitment department
  • Ability to sell the benefits of the company or job to a potential applicant
  • The ability to develop external long lasting relationships with key stakeholders such as the DWP, the Prison and Probation Service and other Government Schemes helping people back into employment
  • To generate innovative ways in which to attract and retain new talent
  • Achieving Recruitment quotas and business development targets each month
  • Work closely with the communications team to produce and post job adverts that attract appropriate candidates
  • Assist with the compilation of monthly staff establishment figures reporting to Exec and Singapore;
  • Inspires and motivates staff within the department enabling them to reach their full potential;
  • Carry out various ad hoc tasks, projects and additional duties as required by the business;

Essential Criteria for application

  • To be able to deputise for the Head of Department and work on own initiative when the Head of Department isn’t available.
  • Have the ability to understand and be responsible for the departments budget.
  • Hold or working towards an ILM level 5 diploma;

  • Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and at all levels;
  • Directly manage a team of Recruitment Assistants and make key decisions
  • Excellent attention for detail;
  • Excellent Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Ability to operate as a team player;
  • Ability to work well under pressure;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
  • Must be proactive, methodical, seek innovation and results orientated;
  • Highly organised, motivated and able to prioritise workload;
  • Ability to use initiative and identify solutions;
  • Discreet when managing confidential matters; 
  • Ability to collate and interpret statistical data;
  • Ability to influence and persuade key decision makers;
  • Must be a team player and willing to develop others to increase team and individual performance.

Hours of work

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
