Job summary

ComfortDelGro has a strong record of accomplishment in contract wins and business acquisitions and continues to look for opportunities to expand the footprint of the business across the Globe.

The Business Development Team at Metroline (London, UK) is responsible for securing suitable opportunities across the UK and Ireland that meet the business expansion strategy of ComfortDelGro. Metroline is expanding the business development team to maximise the opportunities of bus franchising and pursue further business acquisitions in the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for an individual who have extensive project management experience at a Senior Management / Head of Department level ideally with experience in the Transport sector who can plan and delivery small to large scale projects across the UK group.


Main Responsibilities



  • Determine and define project scope and objectives;
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner;
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements;
  • Track project costs to meet budget;
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan;
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress;
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables;
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution;
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed;
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement;

Essential Criteria

The following are examples of what would be expected, not all are required:

  • Association of project management (APM);
  • Project Management institution (PMI);
  • Chartered management institution (PMI);
  • Diploma/Certificate in project management;
  • Diploma in project and Quality Management;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
  • PRINCE2;


Competencies & Desirable Skills

  • Leadership and team building experience;
  • Knowledge of various forms of contracts;
  • General knowledge of current industry developments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including C-Suite;
  • Experience of project management in the transport industry (desirable);
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team;
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience;
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively;
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices;
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful;
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline;


Hours of work

38 Hours per week, Monday to Friday
