The MOT Quality Inspector is an integral part of the engineering function in CELF. The MOT Quality Inspector will work closely with VOSA and the MOT line ensuring standards of presentation of vehicles for MOT meet the highest standards.


Main Responsibilites:

  • Inspection of Company vehicles prior to MOT;
  • Inspecting private vehicles to meet MOT requirements;
  • Collating and planning work;
  • Liaising with garage engineers;
  • Working with Quality Team on spot and planned audits;
  • Identifying failure trends on MOT line;
  • Working with the Technical Team to resolve issues;
  • Hold a full PCV Licence.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must have completed an apprenticeship or hold an NVQ3 qualification in PCV/Heavy vehicle engineering;
  • Must hold a valid MOT/FTA inspectors qualification;
  • Must hold or be working towards a Quality Auditors Qualification;
  • Demonstrable mechanical engineering knowledge and skills;
  • Demonstrable experience working in a PCV environment;
  • Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook.

Hours of work: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
