Job summary

Handling in house legal proceedings presented by Claimant solicitors in respect of personal injury, third party damage and credit hire claims.

 

Pursuit of own damage uninsured recoveries in respect of Metroline’s and ComfortDelGro Group companies (CDG) outlay and financial losses incurred as a result of negligent Third Party drivers including the issuing of legal proceedings where necessary to enable recovery.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

 

To handle all new claims where legal proceedings have been issued against CDG Group including the assessment of legal liability and the acknowledgement of proceedings and preparation and filing of appropriate Defences within the deadlines prescribed under the Civil Procedures Regulations (CPR).

 

Working closely and in partnership with our panel of Defence solicitors on existing litigated cases and more complex and larger new cases that need to be outsourced.

 

To monitor, organise and pursue all non-fault uninsured losses to maximise recoveries from Third Party Insurers including the issuance of legal proceedings where necessary against Third Parties &/or their insurers to force payment on cases where legal liability rests with the Third Party and where the TPI are either refusing or delaying payment to Metroline.

 

Direct assistance to Head of Claims on existing and new claims matters in terms of handling and assessment of liability and engagement with Third Parties and their legal representatives endeavouring to argue and “ win the day “ and to reduce or even eradicate their expectations as to their pursuit of TP claim(s). 

 

Some general claims handling to assist with workload management both in terms of existing and new claims matters.

 

 

Essential Criteria

Ability to work calmly under pressure and to provide incisive professional decisions in order to mitigate losses and maximise recoveries.

 

The successful applicant will need to hold relevant legal qualification to the standard of Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) and also have suitable academic qualifications.

 

It is also essential that the successful applicant has had previous experience within an insurance claims department environment within the past.

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
