FARE DEALS ON ROUTES 84 AND 242

‘MY PHONE IS MY TICKET’

Now you can buy day, weekly and monthly tickets from our Metroline range at a discount using m-ticketing via a Smartphone and the INTALINK app – click here for more information and prices or go to intalink.org.uk to download the free app. T&Cs apply.

Buying tickets from the driver

The following ticket types can all be bought from the driver using cash. It is helpful if you can have the correct fare available when possible. Our drivers do give change, subject to availability, otherwise a change voucher can be issued. We do not currently accept debit or credit cards on bus but these can be used to buy m-tickets via your smartphone as above. Oyster cards are not valid on our Country routes, other than to obtain child discount (see below), but we do have local cash fares in the TfL area.

Single and day return fares

Adult single fares range from around £1.50 to £4.50 depending upon distance and area. Some £1 short distance fares are also available, for example St Albans City Centre – City Station.

Day return fares are available for all single fare values at approximately one-and-a-half times the single fare, so saving around 25% compared with two single fares. (Please note that day return fares are not available on route 242 before 0900 on Mondays to Fridays).
