School holiday schedules are in operation from 23 July on routes 84 and 242. Schoolday timings will resume from Monday 3 September.
Route 242: Brookfield Lane West, 9/10 August from 2000 hours
Roadworks will be taking place in Brookfield Lane West during the evenings of 9 and 10 August. A diversion will be in place but we expect to be able to access both the Brookfield Centre and Whitefields Road, although we shall be unable to serve the Aldermere Avenue stop at these times.
Route 242: The Causeway, Potters Bar, 6-15 August 0900-1600 hours
Due to roadworks, buses on route 242 will be diverted at the above times via Hatfield Road, Shepherds Way and Well Road to Northaw, and vice versa, and will not be able to serve the Causeway and associated stops during these times.
Route 84: Barnet High Street, junction Park Road, 23 July - 17 August
We are advised that lane restrictions will be in place due to water main works throughout the above period, likely to cause delays to the service. Bus stops G, H, L and K will be suspended for the duration.
Route 84: London Colney Roundabout, 23 July - 30 August
Lane closures and road works are currently taking place on London Colney Roundabout at the junction of High Street, A1081 and North Orbital Road. Some long delays are expected, around 15 minutes in each direction at peak periods, which are likely to have a significant impact on route 84 at times.
We will do our best to minimise inconvenience to our customers arising from the above events and apologise for any inconvenience experienced.
Potters Bar Bus Garage Open Day Saturday 28 July
A big 'thank you' to everyone who came along to our Open Day, we hope you enjoyed the event.
Our Country routes run in close proximity to the M1, M25 and A1(M) motorways. Incidents (collisons and the like) occur from time to time on these motorways causing traffic to slow down or stop. When this occurs, much of the traffic diverts onto local roads which have much less capacity than the motorway, slowing these roads to a crawl. Such events can have a severe impact on our routes, as the resulting delays can often be 30 minutes or more, for which it is not possible for us to provide in our normal schedule.
Our staff do their best to deal with these situations and try to return the service to the timetable as quickly as possible but there is little that can be done while traffic is not moving. We will let our customers know by Twitter whenever possible when such instances occur and what effect they are having and we can only ask for your patience in circumstances which are beyond our control.
