Potters Bar Bus Garage Open Day 2018
Potters Bar Bus Garage Open Day
Saturday 28th July 2018: 10.30am – 4pm
All proceeds go to charity
On Saturday 28th July, local bus operator Metroline will open the doors of its bus garage in Potters Bar High Street to local people, enabling them to see inside the premises from where 160 buses operate on local bus services.
The aim is to raise as much money as possible for charities, including those supporting Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation. Admission will be by programme, priced at £2.50, available on the day at the garage door. This year’s open day hopes to build on the success of last year’s, which raised over £1,000 for charities - the aim is to raise even more money this year.
Attractions will include a display of buses, some dating back to the 1950s and 1960s right the way up to the modern day with some of Metroline’s newest buses on show. There will also be a variety of stalls selling transport memorabilia, together with a fund-raising raffle. A selection of hot and cold food and drinks will also be available.
Like last year, there will also be an opportunity to enjoy free rides on show buses around the local area; including rides on Metroline’s Routemaster bus which dates back to 1962, and now 55 years old, together with a New Bus for London, dubbed the New Routemaster and one of Metroline’s new all-electric buses.
Buses 84, 242 and PB1 pass the door.
We look forward to seeing you there!
