Setting new standards in training    

Metroline aims to go beyond the standard PCV programme by adding additional components, such as customer relations training, disability equality, accident awareness and extra numeracy skills.

Our ultimate objective is to raise the profile and status of the bus driver and we strongly believe that investment in training and education is essential to achieving this.

 

Innovators

We believe that in order to recruit staff and to ensure that they feel sufficiently valued to stay with us, investment in staff development is essential. By encouraging and providing the opportunity for our drivers to invest in new skills, especially IT, we hope to demonstrate that commitment to our work force.

We also hope that the introduction of the BTEC will lead to a greater sense of professionalism in the industry. By ensuring staff attain a specific level 2 qualification as a driver, we are making progress towards improving the status of all bus drivers.
