ComfortDelGro
subsidiary Metroline welcomes Russ Hargrave as Engineering
Director to their team.
Born
in Northumberland, Russ joined the Royal Air Force
in 1983 having won an Engineering Cadetship at
Kingston

a BSc (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering, he then
went
on to complete his RAF training before serving
in a variety of locations across the UK, Germany
and
the
Middle East.
Throughout
the 1990s he was heavily involved with the operation
and maintenance of aircraft
such
as the Harrier
and Tornado, but also undertook a wide range
of duties not directly related to aircraft. He also
gained several
specialist qualifications ranging from ISO9000
quality auditing to advanced bomb disposal.
Selected
for a nine month advanced Management and Leadership
training course at the Joint Services
Command and Staff
College in 2000, he was promoted to the rank
of
Wing Commander before graduating in July 2001
with a MA
degree in Defence Studies from Kings College
London.
This
was followed by 2 years as the Integrated Logistics
Support Manager for the new
Eurofighter
Typhoon fighter
aircraft before he was appointed as the Engineering
and Logistics Director at the RAFs largest
combat airbase at Marham in Norfolk. In this
position
he was responsible
for over 1,400 military and civilian staff
providing support to RAF operations around
the world, a
role that also covered the operation and
maintenance of a large fleet of heavy support vehicles.
Commenting
on the appointment, Russ said: “I’m
delighted to have been given the opportunity
by Metroline to ‘raise the bar’ in terms
of quality, performance, productivity and vehicle
presentation. 2006 will be an extremely exciting
and challenging
time and I’m looking forward to joining
Metroline’s
engineering team.”
Metroline’s
Chief Executive Officer, Jaspal Singh said: “Russell
joins Metroline with a wealth of engineering,
logistics and change management experience
that is highly relevant to his new role as

to lead our engineering division to new achievements
and successes
in 2006 and establish a clear future direction.”
