Metroline Plc - Change to Senior Management

ComfortDelGro subsidiary, Metroline announces that Steve McAleavy is to step down as Managing Director and will leave this summer.

Jaspal Singh CEO for ComfortDelGro UK and Ireland commented: “We are extremely disappointed that Steve has chosen to depart and he will be sorely missed. Under Steve’s leadership Metroline has undergone a huge turnaround in every aspect of its performance. Steve has created a very strong team within the business and he can be proud of his achievements. On behalf of the ComfortDelGro Group, we wish him well for the future”

Sean O’Shea is appointed as Acting Managing Director with immediate effect.

Steve McAleavy said: “After three years of the daily commute to London, I am taking some time off with my family before considering future options. It has been a tremendous experience to work for Metroline and ComfortDelGro and to create an amazing team here in London.

Together, we challenged the way people viewed working in the bus industry and dared to create a better place to work for our people, who came with us. I owe a great deal of gratitude to the 3,000 amazing staff within the business. It has been particularly exciting to be part of the great success story of London Buses.”

McAleavy has pioneered several new strategies for creating a customer focussed organisation and has continually challenged the traditional way of running bus companies. Utilising many techniques from exemplary customer service businesses, the Metroline improvements have demonstrated that they can even be applied in a traditional industry like the transport sector.
