~ METROLINE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAY BUS SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2007/08 ~

CHRISTMAS EVE MONDAY 24 DECEMBER - Normal Saturday services will operate on all routes, except that on Route 242; last buses will be at 1900 from both Potters Bar and Waltham Cross (towards Potters Bar) and 1940 from Waltham Cross to Hammond Street. NO NIGHT BUSES WILL RUN ON THE NIGHT OF 24/25 DECEMBER.

On routes that are marketed as a 24 hour service the last journeys will operate just after midnight and Mobility Routes 965 and 969 will run as normal.

CHRISTMAS DAY TUESDAY 25 DECEMBER – No Metroline services will operate. NO NIGHT OR 24 HOUR SERVICES WILL RUN ON THE NIGHT OF 25/26 DECEMBER.

BOXING DAY WEDNESDAY 26 DECEMBER – Sunday services will operate on all routes that normally operate on a Sunday (except on Route 84* which will operate between High Barnet and Potters Bar Station only). First buses will start around 0800/0900 (except on ROUTES 90 and 140 which will start at around 0530) and last buses will run at normal Sunday times.

* Departures will be 0800 and every hour until 2300 from Potters Bar Station and 0830 and every hour until 2330 from New Barnet Station.

Night and 24 hour services will operate their normal Wednesday night/Thursday morning service on the night of 26/27 December.

THURSDAY 27 DECEMBER - Saturday services will operate. Night and 24 hour services will operate to their normal Thursday night/Friday morning times. Mobility Route 972 will operate normally.

FRIDAY 28 DECEMBER – Saturday services will operate. Night and 24 hour services will operate to their normal Friday night/Saturday morning times. Mobility Routes 965 and 969 will operate normally.

SATURDAY 29 DECEMBER – Normal Saturday service will operate. Night and 24 hour services will operate to their normal Saturday night/Sunday morning times.

SUNDAY 30 DECEMBER – Normal Sunday service will operate. Night and 24 hour services will operate to their normal Sunday night/Monday morning times.

NEW YEAR’S EVE MONDAY 31 DECEMBER – Saturday services will operate on all routes, except that on Route 242; last buses will be at 1900 from both Potters Bar and Waltham Cross (towards Potters Bar) and 1940 from Waltham Cross to Hammond Street. Night and 24 hour services will operate a Saturday night/Sunday morning service and Mobility Routes 965 and 969 will run as normal.

In order to provide connections with the Underground and some National Rail services which will be running later or throughout the night, special services incorporating a night service will be in operation on Routes 113, 209, 210, 217, H12 and W7. Generally these services will run about every 20 minutes (Route W7, about every 15 minutes).

Road closures in Central London during the evening from about 1800 will result in the following further alterations:-

Route 4 - will be diverted at Ludgate Circus to terminate at Holborn instead of Waterloo.

Routes 6, 139, C2 will NOT operate south of Oxford Circus.

In addition, the terminals for and routeing of Night Buses serving Central London (except Routes N16 and N98) will be altered as follows:-

Routes N5 and N20 will terminate at Tottenham Court Road Station.

Route N52 will operate via daytime Route 52 via Grosvenor Place between Hyde Park Corner and Victoria.

Normal routes will be reinstated when clearance is given by the relevant authorities, probably sometime after 0130 hours.

NO FARES WILL BE COLLECTED ON ANY BUS FROM 23.45 ON NEW YEAR’S EVE UNTIL 04.30 ON NEW YEAR’S DAY. NORMAL FARES WILL THEN APPLY FROM 04.31.

NEW YEAR’S DAY TUESDAY 1 JANUARY 2008 - A Sunday service will operate.

Routes 6 and 139 will be diverted or curtailed in Central London from 0930 until 1700 approximately because of the London Parade.

Night and 24 hour services will operate to their normal Tuesday night/Wednesday morning times.

WEDNESDAY 2 JANUARY – Normal service patterns resume.

Routes 84 and 242

Christmas Eve Monday 24 December – A Saturday service will operate on these routes, except last journeys on Route 242 will be at 1900 from both Potters Bar and Waltham Cross (to Potters Bar) and 1940 from Waltham Cross to Hammond Street.

Christmas Day Tuesday 25 December – NO SERVICE

Boxing Day Wednesday 26 December – A special hourly service will run between New Barnet and Potters Bar Station on Route 84 from about 0800 until 2300 on Boxing Day. Departures will be 0800 and every hour until 2300 from Potters Bar Station and 0830 and every hour until 2330 from New Barnet Station.

Thursday/Friday 27/28 December – A Saturday service will operate.

Saturday 29 December – Normal Saturday service.

Sunday 30 December – Normal Sunday service.

New Year’s Eve Monday 31 December – As Christmas Eve, 24 December.

New Year’s Day Tuesday 1 January 2008 – A Sunday service will operate on Route 84. For Route 242 please contact Traveline on 0871 200 22 23.

Wednesday 2 January 2008 – Normal services resume.
