New: Schedules Manager
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill the vacancy of Schedules Manager, based at our Head Office in Harrow (relocating to Cricklewood in early 2010).
The successful applicant will lead and supervise a team of 6 staff (including 2 working solely on Rail Replacement Bus Services) who compile schedules that are both efficient and effective, taking into account Safety, Reliability, Acceptability and Cost, while keeping within existing Union Agreements and established working practices.
You will be a computer-literate individual, and be able to work to strict deadlines/ You will be involved with the tendering for bus services and their subsequent introduction, together with ensuring that programmes of work associated with routine service changes are introduced on time.
Working to detailed specifications, precise time schedules, vehicle schedules, duty schedules and rotas are required to be compiled to maximise the service quality on each route.
The successful applicant will need to have experience in the compilation of bus schedules and rosters, ideally within Greater London, and be capable of acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the London Schedules System, whilst having an understanding of Drivers' Hours Regulations and Trade Union agreements.
You will also be responsible for liaising with staff within Transport for London, and negotiating the smooth introduction of schedule changes with garage management and Trade Union representatives.
Knowledge of Metroline's operating area, and/or an understanding of tendered bus operations in London would be an advantage, but not essential.
You will be a self-motivated team-player who is able to produce accurate results, frequently working to tight deadlines. Possessing good management and negotiating skills would also be a distinct advantage.
