Pollution control
Out with the old and in with the new
Although the old London double decker back loading Routemaster bus is a firm favourite with tourists and Londoners alike, they are old in design and pass out higher emissions than the newer designs available on the market. Furthermore, access for disabled users is also impossible on Routemasters which were not designed with the current low floors, ramps, wide isles and reserved spaces.
At the end of 2004, all Route Master buses used by Metroline were decommissioned and replaced by new models. With a fleet of over 1,000 strong, Metroline has invested heavily in complying with EU emissions standards.
But it isn't just buses that contribute to air pollution. We provide our services in the hope that the public choose to use our buses rather than their cars. Decreasing the amount of private vehicles on the roads will improve the general air quality of cities like London.
So instead of getting stuck in that traffic jam and arriving late to the office, why not let us take you to work next time?
