BTEC

When new drivers join us, we provide a 32 day training programme that leads them to achieving, not only their PCV licence, but also a BTEC level two accreditation in ‘Delivering a Bus Service’ in London.

Supported by TfL

This scheme, supported by Transport for London, was launched in conjunction with Metroline in recognition of our place at the vanguard of this new initiative.

Our STAR centre is one of the first centres to become an approved accreditation centre. This programme ensures that all new drivers receive assessed customer relations training, including TfL’s relaunched disability equality training and is to be extended to existing drivers.

A recently developed training initiative, involving the latest technology, is now used to assist new employees to learn the routes.

New technology

This interactive programme not only assists drivers to learn roads traversed, but also takes into account known accident black spots and hazards they may encounter during the journey. Metroline has also developed an interactive accident awareness computer programme to improve driver alertness and sense of responsibility.
